In Theory… Launch postponed. In 4K.

Hello dear people!

With only two days away from our intended release we have to uphold traditions and push back the date.

Why the delay? Completing a project of this magnitude is a rather large undertaking for two people. And we suck at giving estimates. With all the heart and mind that we’ve put into this, stumbling out the door (which is an overstatement) at this point would be rather stupid. We want to get the game out to you asap but we also release it properly or we will regret it later.

Why didn’t we notify about the delay sooner? For the past months we’ve been knee deep in finalizing the game. Up until recently we were still on track but dropping tasks related to the release. It was but a few days ago that we took our heads out of the development sand and had to make the hard call.

What now? We’re going to take a couple of days to regroup and formulate the final steps.

We’re truly sorry for the delay and hope these raw untouched 4K screenshots of the finalized nature alleviate some of the pain. :)

In Praxis… Impostors

It’s been a while since our last blog post, but it’s only because we’ve been hard at work, we swear! We haven’t even thought about rushing off to the Bahamas with your hard-earned money!

This time I’m going to shed a little light on a little something that makes it possible to render massive and densely populated worlds in real time: impostors. Read more

In Theory… 20000€ milestone reached!

A big hand to everyone, high five and thumbs up! Our good pals at Almost Human (makers of Legend of Grimrock) were also super cool to lend their thumbs for a good cause. :)  The campaign is doing good, with almost one third of the 65K target already reached with 23 days still to go. Work continues on the campaign and the game of course.

Super big thanks to NVIDIA also, who published a new exclusive screenshot!

In Praxis… Oculus Rift

We have an exciting announcement to make! A development kit for the Oculus Rift virtual reality system should be on its way to us some time in December and we’ve already started prototyping support for it in Reset. We’ll let you know of any further developments!

Screenshot from a prototype with preliminary support for the Oculus Rift virtual reality system. Note that the warping of the image probably does not match the one expected by the Rift. The parameters for proper warping can only be obtained from the Rift SDK with the actual device attached.

In Theory… New screens and Steam Greenlight (sort of)

Hello peeps!

Things are progressing nicely and we’ve submitted Reset to Steam Greenlight. It is in the concept category, since the game is not ready enough to be submitted to the actual game category. So voting for the game doesn’t count towards getting Reset Greenlit yet.

As stated before, the gameplay premiere teaser is scheduled to be released October 28th and we’ll be starting the crowd funding campaign at the same time.

Oh almost forgot. Here are four new screenshots. :)

Happy Friday The 13th!

Bad luck Friday they say… hogwash we say. Here is an uplifting screenshot to prove it. :)

Happy Valentine’s Day

It Has Begun

Welcome to reset-game.net. This is the development blog for Reset, a first person puzzle game currently in development for PC. We are super-excited to finally announce this project to the public and to kick things off with style we present these four unedited real time screenshots. Head on over to the about page for a quick overview of what’s what and remember to follow us on facebook/twitter. It has begun.

Oh and by the way, I’m listening to Aes Dana – Signs as I’m writing this, has a definite Reset vibe to it.
